Open Source Version

November 25th 2012

The Gloves Team is currently working on an Open Source Hardware pair of The Gloves that capture movement and gestures of the hand similar to the pair of gloves developed for Imogen Heap.

The Open Hardware pair of gloves will be developed under the name “The Gloves Project” and be based on the Arudio prototyping platform. We plan to use the ArduIMU together with commercial or handmade bend sensors, an I2C RGB LED module for visual feedback, a vibration motor for tactile feedback and have each glove connect either wirelessly via a Bluetooth module, or wired via an FTDI cable.

The Gloves software (Glover) is still under construction.

For updates on the progress of this pair of The Gloves please read through the Team Posts!

Hi Im the founder of a new undergraduate design team at Queen’s University in Ontario. We are working on Haptic feedback gloves to interact with VR and would like to collaborate with the open source glove project, and use the design to leapfrog our prototyping. Where can we find the open sourced hardware and software designs.
